WNGD

PJ and I didn't get a chance to garden nude Saturday, but will as soon as we return to California.

Here are some additional nude gardening photos, past and present: http://imageevent.com/kenandjane/wngd

Preparing for the Bare Burro 5K

We’ve been busy finishing preparations for this weekend’s Bare Burro 5K, while spending as much time as we can spare cleaning, weeding, planting, and generally preparing Dellymaze Park and the Olive Dell Nature Trail for those who will visit. On top of it all, the weather has been cool and wet (I was planting signs in the rain Monday – still nude but it was definitely cool.) All in all we’ve been super busy.

Still, it’s been enjoyable working naked and enjoying the comments from recent visitors.

Ranger Don visited. His career was spent working for the forest service, and he still volunteers as a trail guide each summer. He stopped at Olive Dell to spend a few days before heading east. I met him hiking the Nature Trail – just two nude guys enjoying the outdoors. He was excited and very complementary about the Nature Trail. It was so nice to get a positive reaction from another trail expert. (Harrow the Skinny Tripper was the first trail expert to help out.)

Dottie, who lives at the resort, mentioned how much she enjoyed walking through Dellymaze Park each day, and how she pulled a few weeds each time she toured. Thanks Dottie.

A young couple with two kids (visitors) have mentioned how much they enjoyed the Park and Nature Trail. Dave, Don (ThingsToDoNude.com), and I met them again at Picnic Table Peak while doing a final measure of the Bare Burro 5K course on Sunday. It was great to see a young family enjoying nude recreation – freehiking.

Anyway, there’s still so much to get done, I better get started. Hopefully, we’ll see lots of new naturist faces at the events this weekend at Olive Dell Ranch. Here’s a reminder:

It looks like the weather will be perfect for the Bare Burro 5K weekend. On Saturday the 17th, many fun activities will take place including a pre-race freehike of the course at 9:30 am, followed by guided tours of the totally unique Dellymaze Park and the newly opened Olive Dell Nature Trail, and nude tennis lessons from Dave. And you just might get involved in tennis, volleyball, shuffleboard, and horseshoe competitions. Nude karaoke will start at 6:00 pm, and Olive Dell's annual Trailer Trash dance will start at 8:00 pm Saturday night – followed by a group soak in the hot tub. Hopefully the pool will be warm enough for a swim, and the deck will certainly be warm enough for some relaxation / sunbathing.

The restaurant will be open all weekend, and will serve a special dinner Saturday evening (you must order the dinner by lunch time). It should be a super-fun weekend for you and any friends you bring along.

Visit http://www.olivedellranch.com/ for more information.

The Bare Burro 5K is going to be very memorable - don't miss out!

Nude Gardening, Freehiking, and Visitors

PJ and I had to work an extra day this weekend, so only had Monday off. We got to Olive Dell early, determined to do some overdue weeding in Dellymaze Park (with the recent rains the weeds seemed to have jumped up). While nude weeding, I noticed a naked couple freehiking down the Olive Dell Nature Trail. (It’s always so gratifying to see someone enjoying our handiwork.) I invited them to tour Dellymaze, so after meeting Trevor and Barbara from Orange County, PJ and I took them on a nude tour of the Park.

Then, we prepared some cement and freehiked to the top of the nature trail to fix a trail sign the Bare Burros had broken. While working on the sign, Laurie came by, taking her morning freehike.

We then freehiked the rest of the trail to check the other signs, and returned to our naked gardening in the Park.

Laurie stopped by to talk when she returned from her freehike. It was nice to hear more about her life as a naturist.

Later, another couple, Jeff and Donna from Colorado, came up the hill to visit Dellymaze - quite a few visitors for a Monday! We took them on a tour of the Park, and left them at the start of Grandkid’s Gulch. Later we noticed them freehiking down the Nature Trail.

After nude gardening for five hours, we took a break and drove into Moreno Valley (a town only ten inutes from Olive Dell) for lunch. While there, we purchased several cactus plants for the Park, which I planted when we returned. We then worked on a new ‘Alien Attraction’ that PJ has been planning for Dellymaze. We love our nude garden, and sharing it with our naturist friends.

We ended the day taking a shower together, relaxing in the hot tub with four friends from the resort, and then enjoying a nude dinner in the restaurant. All in all, our short break from the clothed world was very enjoyable.

Love Being One With Nature

This past Wednesday afternoon PJ and I spent some time freegardening in Dellymaze Park and along the Olive Dell Nature Trail, changing a few signs, and gathering a few plant specimens for identification.

Then, on Thursday morning I freehiked the course for the upcoming Bare Burro 5K (to be held at 10:30 on April 18th - see http://www.olivedellranch.com/ for details and registration information – hopefully some of my readers can attend).

The weather was perfect to be out in nature naked. The plants are green, the trees are growing leaves, the flowers are blooming, and the wild cucumber pods are getting huge.

I just love being one with nature the way God intended – naked and totally unashamed.

Our Day Freegardening and Freehiking

Even though it was heavily overcast and cool on Monday, PJ and I spent most of the day gardening nude in Dellymaze Park at Olive Dell Ranch. The weeds had grown up to two feet tall due to frequent rains this spring. It was definitely time to do some weeding.

John, dressed only in a shirt and shoes, dropped off the resort’s weed eater and some gas, and I got started. I don’t necessarily recommend operating a weed eater nude, because it has a tendency to throw up small rocks, but it made the task much more enjoyable. Besides, my clothes didn’t end up covered with small bits of green that easily washed off my body when PJ and I showered afterwards. PJ pulled weeds along the trail, while I operated the weed eater. I also pulled a few weeds and cleared out dead branches from a tree near one trail.

After an enjoyable day freegardening, Dellmaze Park looks mowed and beautiful, ready for visitors - I hope some of you drop by.

Later in the afternoon I freehiked the Olive Dell Nature Trail and repaired several signs. A few raindrops fell as I hiked. Still, the trek felt wonderful, even after a day gardening in the nude. There is something utterly and uniquely pleasurable about freehiking. I was reminded yet again how fantastic freehiking feels – even on a cool day.

Naturism can be Profoundly Positive for Children

Several times this week I was reminded how unconscious kids are of nudity at Olive Dell Ranch.

On Monday I was weeding nude along a trail in Dellymaze Park when the six year old naturist and her mom (and little brother) came down the hill. We talked for a minute about how they had been for a picnic by the stream and then returned via the Grandkids Gulch trail. (I love it that the people at the resort are enjoying the trails I’ve opened up and named.) Anyway, at a branch in the trail above me the daughter took the more difficult trail that passed right by this old naked man. I said, “Oh, you’re coming this way?” Her mom said, “She’s choosing the way.” Obviously my nudity was of no concern to either. It was a nice, natural encounter.

Then Wednesday, PJ and I were naked at the top of Grandkids Gulch fixing a sign when we heard the happy voices of children coming up the trail. Soon four girls arrived excited to show us a waterfall they had discovered. The oldest (12) said she’d really like a trail named after her and I said I’d make one. It was fascinating that nudity didn’t bother them in the least.

Today I read an article called ‘Sexting’ on The Rise at Schools’ (http://www.azstarnet.com/news/local/education/article_71d82f36-d62d-5101-961b-e7ff6d608bdd.html).

The article explained that ‘Kids are collecting these [nude] pictures like baseball cards. It has turned into this contest to see how many pictures they can collect of their peers doing these inappropriate behaviors.” Mr. Bonn sees this as problematic because the majority of students in sexting incidents ‘are such willing participants’.

To my mind, the problem is not that the kids are willing participants, but that society has pornified the naked human body. Three thoughts come to mind:

1. Why are simple naked photos considered sexy anyway? (In fact, why call this ‘Sexting’? Doing this just confuses the issue.

2. If people understood and practiced naturism kids wouldn’t need to send naked photos, and parents and teachers wouldn’t be so freaked out if they were sent.

3. Clearly nudity is becoming more acceptable to kids, and this may bode well for the naturist movement in the future.

Children are natural naturists and don’t confuse nudity with sex until society and parents screw up their minds. How can we prevent our kids from becoming citizens, wittingly or unwittingly, of the vast pornopolis of modern culture? My answer is to practice naturism with our family. All parents should consider the positive aspects of incorporating naturism into their family life. Little can be done to better protect the family. Naturism can be profoundly positive.

Naked Gardening - Olive Dell Nature Trail

PJ and I spent the day Monday (2/15/2010) gardening at Olive Dell. Naked gardening is heavenly work!

We erected eight signs along the Olive Dell Nature Trail and Grandkids Gulch (which involved some very pleasant freehiking), and did some naked weeding and spraying in the Park. A ten year old boy dropped by (unconsciously naked) as we were preparing signs, and volunteered to help us carry and erect signs along the trail. He only lasted through one trip up the mountain, but he was excited to be the first kid at Olive Dell to walk Grandkids Gulch - I’m sure he won’t be the last – it’s a great trail for naturist kids.

We erected eight signs along the trails on Monday.

Later a six-year old naturist stopped by the Park looking for some friends. We saw them later playing in the upper meadow.

Wednesday afternoon we spent more time nude gardening and working on trails. I finished the Donkey Meadows Trail and cleared Hidden Hollow.

We just love getting away to Olive Dell to garden and build trails in the buff. Naked gardening is our escape. Sometimes it seems the only thing that keeps us sane with all the pressures at work.

Here is a link to photos of the Olive Dell Nature Trail: http://imageevent.com/kenandjane/olivedellnaturetrail

I’ll post additional photos of the trail as more is completed. It’s fast becoming the best nature trail at any naturist resort in the west. I’ve spent several days talking with a botanist at the University of Redlands about the vegetation so we can mark it and help others identify it. Perhaps he and his family will visit the trail in the future.

Is anyone interested in visiting and taking a hike with us?

Working Naked on our Park and Trails

Work has been so busy lately that it’s been difficult to take time and report on our nude activities, but PJ and I haven’t missed the chance to be nude. This past Weekend, and Wednesday afternoon, we spent our time working on Dellmaze Park and on the Olive Dell Nature Trail - clearing brush, digging, raking, making signs, weeding, etc.

I also finished a new trail we’ll call Grandkids Gulch, dedicated to our 15 grandkids. PJ was feeling bad that we had named two trails (Baily’s Bottom and Easton’s Expressway) after our grandkids, but didn’t have a trail for the others, and 13 more trails seemed a bit obsessive, so I decided to make one for all. In our opinion, Grandkids Gulch is the best trail of all, wandering through groves of tall brush, fantastic rocks, and hidden valleys. Kids will love its hidden mystery.

We hope our grandkids might visit us to walk the trail someday. If only that could happen . . .

Wednesday afternoon I took a series of photos of the trails. PJ says photos of trails are boring because viewers won’t be able to appreciate what they’re seeing, but I thought I’d post them anyway. Without question, it would be much more interesting to visit Olive Dell to walk the trails naked – something Becky the owner’s wife does every morning – but until you can visit us this link takes you to photos of these two fun naked trails:

Naturist Activity Reduces Memory Loss

I knew a fellow who quit naturism because he said it made him lazy, just lying in the sun. Not me. Naturist activities motivate me to exercise. Hiking, gardening, and swimming clothed are all okay, but I truly love freehiking, freegardening, and nude swimming, so being a naturist keeps me healthy as well as happy.

With this in mind, consider these thoughts from Dr. Mercola about the value of exercise in reducing memory loss as one ages.

“Moderate physical activity performed in midlife or later appears to be associated with a reduced risk of mild cognitive impairment - and a six-month high-intensity aerobic exercise program can improve cognitive function in individuals who already have the condition. Each year, 10 percent to 15 percent of individuals with mild cognitive impairment will develop dementia, as compared with 1 percent to 2 percent of the general population. Physical exercise may protect against mild cognitive impairment by means of the production of nerve-protecting compounds, greater blood flow to the brain, improved development and survival of neurons and the decreased risk of heart and blood vessel diseases.”

http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2010/02/02/the-single-most-important-thing-to-preserve-your-brain-function.aspx

PJ and I manage a senior facility. I suspect our residents would function better mentally as well as physically if they were naturists, and increased vitamin D from the sun would help as well. (Too bad, I don’t suppose I’ll ever be able to demonstrate this with my residents.)

Anyone Else Enjoy Freegardening?

We had little free time this week to visit our happy place at Olive Dell Ranch. We spent Monday freegardening in Dellymaze Park. While weeding areas on the Olive Dell Nature Trail I noticed an interesting area for a new trail. PJ and I had discussed dedicating a trail to all of our grandkids, so I was soon bushwacking away on a new Grandkids Trail.

Wednesday afternoon I continued working on this new trail. It will take several more days to finish, but the Grandkids Trail will be very interesting when it is done. I hope they all walk it some day.

I love freegardening - dirt, scratches, bumps, everything about it.

Anyone else enjoy freegardening?

Olive Dell Ranch Activities

On January 22, 23, and 24 we spent lots of time setting up for, holding, and taking down decorations for Olive Dell Ranch’s first Murder Mystery Night – the Four Duces. PJ was in charge. It was fun.

Also on the 24th our friend who was visiting from Hurricane, Utah, helped PJ and I measure the newly created Olive Dell Nature Trail. Turns out it’s about 2/3rds of a mile. I placed signs at both entrances.

We spent lots of time freegardening in Delly Maze Park. I mostly cleared dirt that had collapsed onto trails with the recent rains, and PJ cleared mud from the dinosaur dig. Nude gardening is one of our favorite activities.

While we were eating a late lunch in the club restaurant (nude of course) we noticed the owner Bobby giving a tour to a new family. Later, as we were working in the Park, the kids from the resort visited to share Dellymaze with the new girl (10 years old). It always amazes me how kids can be so natural around old naked people. The new girl had lots of fun running the trails.

Later we met her again with her mom and her mom’s boyfriend in the hot tub. They make a nice family. They really enjoyed their visit to Olive Dell Ranch and seem likely to join as new members. The daughter mentioned how much she liked Dellymaze Park, and her mom mentioned she’d definitely take a tour on her next visit.

Monday, in addition to more freegardening, we spent some hours measuring the course for the Bare Burro 5k run / walk that will be held April 18, 2010. I freehiked the entire course twice. I hope some of my readers will be able to attend the Bare Burro. Freehiking Revives My Soul

We arrived at Olive Dell Ranch a little late on January 17th, 2010, after a trying day and night of work. PJ was exhausted from staying up all night decoration the building, and I was completely stressed out from interacting with management, so PJ went to bed and I took a freehike.

Freehiking is a wonderful stress reliever. I walked up the Olive Dell Nature Trail and realigned a few rocks that the wild donkeys had kicked aside. Then I hiked the Picnic Table Loop Trail. Along the way I enjoyed seeing new-growth vegetation and birds and seven wild donkeys – the views from the top were breathtaking. I walked back along the other half of the Nature Trail. When I returned, I had nearly forgotten the stresses at work – what a relief.

Freehiking is my mental and physical meditation. Healthy physical exercise, mental healing, spiritual peace - freehiking revives my soul.

Does anyone else feel these same benefits from freehiking?

Returning, I freegardened for about four hours working on the new Boozer Springs Trail which is nearly complete, and scraped weeds.

By then the weather had turned colder, and PJ had awaked, so we walked down to the clubhouse to shower, ate a nice late lunch, and soaked in the spa - hot water on our naked bodies - what a wonderful way to relax tired and sore muscles.

We love our stress-free happy place at Olive Dell Ranch.
