• Be an “at home” naturist: It’s simple to live naked at home – just get undressed and do everything you usually do. For example, Desert Rat lives naked most of the time . . . “Since I`m retired, I`m reluctant to get dressed in the morning. [I dress] to go out and do whatever things that I have to do; I take the clothes off as soon as I can after I get home.” Nude Allen says that . . . “Every afternoon after work as soon as I get in the house I get nude. What a good feeling getting those jeans off. I do all necessary housework and cook supper in the nude, and stay nude until next morning.” Salmongetter says . . . “I usually am nude within about three minutes of walking in the door and unless I need to go someplace or have non-nudist company show up, I am nude until the next time I need to go out and after Thursday pm I don`t have to get dressed until Sunday if I don`t want to.” Baltic says . . . “Getting naked is the very first thing I do when I get home. It`s freeing. And at home there is no need to make a statement with any kind of clothes or expensive wristwatches.” Finally, Nude Dude says . . . “I have found that doing some chores and housework nude is very relaxing and therapeutic; especially after a long day`s work. It`s so nice to come home, strip down, and if I have chores to do, I am naked. Nothing better.” - Nude Dude
• Be a “backyard” naturist. The best advice for backyard naturists is to be open with your neighbors. Visit them in advance, and explain you’re a nudist and don’t like clothes. Vix711 does this: “. . . my wife and I wander/sunbathe naked all summer weather permitting in complete privacy, well almost! . . . [my 80 year old neighbor] . . . has one daughter in her early fifties who comes and mows her lawn once a week on her sit down mower. She invariably pulls up by the fence and never bats an eyelid whilst chatting about the weather, politics, whatever. We have even invited her round but she says it’s not for her . . .” MontanaNude summarizes this saying. . . "My neighbors know that I am a nudist. Those who are OK with it come without calling. Those who have a problem, call before coming over. . . I gave up hiding and coming up with one-liners years ago.”
• Become a “nude party” host: Why not invite friends over for a meal, or a game of cards, or a karaoke night, or a pool or spa party? Your house can be the most popular naturist gathering place in town. People arrive, strip down, and enjoy a naked activity with friends. PJ love hosting nude parties.
• Create a traveling nudist resort: Prepare your vehicle so you can travel nude without concern for getting “caught”. Install window and seat coverings, and wear easy to slip on and off clothing when necessary. Then you can strip down with your traveling companions, drive naked to see local attractions, stop to eat a picnic and take a walk nude, take photos of you and your naked friends standing by a road sign, talk, laugh, and just have some good naked fun in your own car or truck.
• Create a naturist home park: Eric reports that . . . “Around 1996 we moved into our house in the country. . . We had a neighbor only on one side and we could come out the back door and sun bathe nude, but we could never venture more than a couple steps from the back door. . . Eventually we made our first big purchase and bought a hot tub. If we were quick and careful we could go out nude . . . As years went by we were not satisfied with that and needed more than these few square feet to be nude in. In addition to that we wanted a pool and did not want to wear a suite. We planted fast growing hedges and built privacy fencing from rough sawn hemlock from a local saw mill. Over the course of a couple years we were able to become perfectly private from the road and our neighbor. We now have a large deck, hot tub, pool, horse shoe pits, bocci, and volley ball, and we use them all nude. We garden and mow the lawn in the buff. Soon I will be starting to build the pentaque court (ever nudist place needs one). We love our yard it’s our very own naturist park! We love having our nudist friends over and enjoying all it has to offer and some great food!"
• Live at a nudist resort: PJ and I do this. A small resort is a bit of a Payton Place. But it’s great to be nude outdoors anytime we want, to eat in the restaurant nude with friends, to sing karaoke or dance nude with others in the clubhouse, to swim in the pool or soak in the spa without a suit, to hike nude into the hills right from the trailer. Many advantages, but it does restrict the people who drop by. But then maybe that’s a good thing as well?
Living a naturist lifestyle is probably a progressive thing, moving from home naturism to resort living. At what stage are you?

Skinny Dipping Girl Scouts
"Before this first experience, I had never been nude in public. I hadn’t given personal nudism any thought. I’d heard the term “skinny dipping” but had associated it with far away and fiction about boys at the ol’ swimming hole. About age 12, our camp group went on an overnight into the “rough country” near a mountain stream in the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Upstream from our rustic campsite a generous pool of water was fed from the stream that washed across and between huge granite boulders. Wading into the pool we regretted leaving our bathing suits back at the main camp. Being “just girls”, however, a few brave souls finally removed jeans and shirts. It didn’t take long before the rest of us doffed all clothing in order to vigorously splash in the stream, a rare treat, compared to the chlorine-laced waters we all knew. Just above the pool one particular boulder was nearly flat, the size of a small truck. The granite was green with the algae, where water flowing across it enabled growth in the glinting sun. Some brave girl, completely naked, clambered to the highest place on that boulder and then slid down gleefully into the pool.
Soon, all of us joined her, sliding on the slick rock and shrieking, again and again, as we plunged into the icy surging stream. The smartest ones stopped to sunbathe and dry off after only a few times, while the rest of us continued our slide until we realized that the algae was wearing off the rock. Our red butts were a painful reminder of our foolish hedonistic activity. That was my first nudist experience. I secretly savored that memory anytime I saw a similar stream for years. I also didn’t tell my parents that I went skinny dipping at Girl Scout camp." - Allegra

Sand Dollar Beach
During our May 2010 vacation we stopped at a campground on California’s scenic Hwy 1, south of Big Sur, across the street from Sand Dollar Beach. After setting up camp, we walked down to see the beach. A well-maintained trail with easy stairs descends to a rocky beach. We walked clothed (after all this is a traditionally clothed beach) to the far north end where it was sandy and far enough from the few others on the beach to get comfortable.
We enjoyed the warm sun on our bodies as we explored the cliffs and walked the sandy portion of the beach for a half hour or so before the sun began setting – it was time to dress and return. We talked with several people on the way back who were searching the rocky shore for topaz. We joined in and found several nice specimens – fun. (By the way, we also found one sand dollar.)
The ocean mist slowly moved in as we left the beach.
We enjoyed a pleasant night camping naked together in our tent. We’d recommend this place for anyone interested in a great camping spot, and getting some sun.

Valley View Hot Springs
“My wife and I go there [Valley View Hot Springs, Colorado] a number of times a year. The place is great. We are [free]hikers and do not find the trip to the upper pools difficult at all. I think it depends on the perspective if you are used to hiking mountain country or not used to it. The hike to the mine takes people from lower elevations 1 1/'2 to 2 hours up and less coming back. It is an old road for the first mile or more, and then finishes with a good hiking trail that climbs the hill to the mine. Seeing a quarter million bats come out is really something. . .
The kids will like the big swimming pool . . . The big soaking pool uphill from the big swimming pool usually has colored marbles and rocks for the kids to get (it is about 3 feet deep all over). . . There is a hot pool that is about 1 1/2 feet deep by the swimming pool and is the only "hot" pool there. They heat it with their self generated electricity. The other pools are usually 93-96 degrees. . .
The only drawback to Valley View that we find, is that there are a lot of "skinny dippers" as opposed to nudists. We call them skinny dippers because they only get nude in the pools. . . There are plenty of nudists too. We even sent the OLT folks an email several years ago (after our first visit) to ask it was really alright to go naked anywhere anytime. They said absolutely yes. Even the office is fine. . . We even went to the office the next trip and deliberately went to the office to become contributors and ask some questions. They never batted an eye. . .
My wife and I have been the only naked people in Oak House several times on winter trips . . . and nobody has ever acted funny or put out. We have also been in Oak House several times when nobody had clothes on. . .
Hiking nude to the mine or upper pools is all on the OLT property so is just fine. We have hiked with nude people to the mine in the afternoons . . . and we have hiked with clothed people while we were nude. Nobody cares, so do what you like. We like no clothes. They had a tour group at the mine once when we hiked up on a warm evening. They were not from VV but had been told that nude people were probable. We hung out nude with about 20 people with clothes on for over an hour. They had been told by their guide that no pictures of any people were allowed without the person's permission. Nobody said anything bad and they were all friendly, not put out.
We also hike on up the mountains sometimes and do it nude if the weather allows. Once you leave the OLT property you are on federal lands. In CO hiking nude on Federal lands is tolerated unless someone issues a complaint and then they have to follow up on it and find you to issue a small ticket.
On one warm hike we ran into a group of CO Mt College students that were there to work on the trail we were using (we usually stay off trails when nude hiking). We were worried for a minute and then one of them said rather loudly "looks like escapees from the hot springs." Everybody cracked up and we visited with them for awhile and hiked on up the trail with them a ways to where they were going to work next.
We have hiked nude with other folks that are like minded, and even hiked nude a whole day once with several others that never did get nude. It is nice to suit yourself about clothes and others can do the same. Should be that way all over.” – Jerry K.

Family Naturist Camping Video
This video of naturist families camping at Fox Bay shows naturism the way it ought to be. (Any idea where Fox Bay is located?)
Skinny Camping is so enjoyable. And of course freehiking is also a normal part of the outdoor naturist activities. Nude outdoors is such a wonderul thing.

Families make such a big difference to real naturist practice. Adults only nudism can't compare.

Family Swimming Pool
“This summer we bought a doughboy (sp) pool for our back yard. So for the months of June through Aug my children would go swimming at least once everyday. So in mid July I told my wife the Boys didn't really need to wear swim suits, to which she agreed. I said well if they don't need to then I don't, she said yeah that's true. While our backyard is not totally private (we have one European family's house that looks into our back yard), still all the rest are relatively blocked by landscaping. The boys for two months went swimming everyday nude and they LOVED it! I lead the way by stripping down first and then they shortly followed, (they are 5, 8, and 11) and continued everyday, I would usually only join them once a week or so.
My 16 yr old daughter wanted to join us but was afraid her mother would be to hard to live with so she would come out and watch but never dove in. She just kept saying I can't wait until I'm 18. So it wasn't great for her but it was definitely a good beginning and it was definitely a great summer of swimming! Who knows what this next summer will bring!!” - BC
