Shooting Guns Nude

This last weekend we met our good friends, R. & P., while eating breakfast in the restaurant at Olive Dell Ranch. P. asked about the Olive Dell Nature Trail. They also mentioned that they were going to shoot guns. We volunteered to guide P. on the trail, and then meet up to shoot as well.

We spent an hour or so walking the Nature Trail and using the Trail Guide to indentify the plants along the trail. P. loved it - she's that king of gal.

Then we spent several hours shooting at the Olive Dell range. It was our first nude gun shoot. We got instructions, and we had a ton of fun. Shooting - another fun activity that is better done nude.

Share Freehiking with Fiancee

“. . . the other day brought a very important first for me when my fiancee and I went . . . for a few hours of hiking. She has more-or-less accepted that I prefer hiking with only my shoes . . . About 1/2 mile into this hike as she walked point, I simply jumped out of my shorts and rolled them up. She said she was ‘honored’ that I would go naked with her on a hike. I said that it was my honor to have her with me while I did this very enjoyable and personal activity. It seems like she eventually might try it, but now with my favorite person right there with me I no longer fear about keeping my closest personal interests intact for life! . . . Perhaps most importantly, my fiancee bore first-hand witness to the elegant sensuality of the experience as I feel pretty much unable to be grumpy when I am naked outside. . . this has been one of the conflicts I needed to resolve in order to feel right about entering into another permanent relationship. . . I could not be happy if I were asked to promise to 'quit hiking naked' . . . This development has created a tremendous reward in full integration of my life with hers. It has also sort of ‘purified’ my direction. In some sense relating to naked hikes, I have felt somewhat misdirected and have done some self-interrogating . . . Now that I have shared this with the one person I would ever ‘have’ to share it with in full honesty, it feels amazingly correct for me to hike naked; physiologically, spiritually, and morally.” - Acoustixman

Preparing for the Bare Burro 5K

We’ve been busy finishing preparations for this weekend’s Bare Burro 5K, while spending as much time as we can spare cleaning, weeding, planting, and generally preparing Dellymaze Park and the Olive Dell Nature Trail for those who will visit. On top of it all, the weather has been cool and wet (I was planting signs in the rain Monday – still nude but it was definitely cool.) All in all we’ve been super busy.

Still, it’s been enjoyable working naked and enjoying the comments from recent visitors.

Ranger Don visited. His career was spent working for the forest service, and he still volunteers as a trail guide each summer. He stopped at Olive Dell to spend a few days before heading east. I met him hiking the Nature Trail – just two nude guys enjoying the outdoors. He was excited and very complementary about the Nature Trail. It was so nice to get a positive reaction from another trail expert. (Harrow the Skinny Tripper was the first trail expert to help out.)

Dottie, who lives at the resort, mentioned how much she enjoyed walking through Dellymaze Park each day, and how she pulled a few weeds each time she toured. Thanks Dottie.

A young couple with two kids (visitors) have mentioned how much they enjoyed the Park and Nature Trail. Dave, Don (ThingsToDoNude.com), and I met them again at Picnic Table Peak while doing a final measure of the Bare Burro 5K course on Sunday. It was great to see a young family enjoying nude recreation – freehiking.

Anyway, there’s still so much to get done, I better get started. Hopefully, we’ll see lots of new naturist faces at the events this weekend at Olive Dell Ranch. Here’s a reminder:

It looks like the weather will be perfect for the Bare Burro 5K weekend. On Saturday the 17th, many fun activities will take place including a pre-race freehike of the course at 9:30 am, followed by guided tours of the totally unique Dellymaze Park and the newly opened Olive Dell Nature Trail, and nude tennis lessons from Dave. And you just might get involved in tennis, volleyball, shuffleboard, and horseshoe competitions. Nude karaoke will start at 6:00 pm, and Olive Dell's annual Trailer Trash dance will start at 8:00 pm Saturday night – followed by a group soak in the hot tub. Hopefully the pool will be warm enough for a swim, and the deck will certainly be warm enough for some relaxation / sunbathing.

The restaurant will be open all weekend, and will serve a special dinner Saturday evening (you must order the dinner by lunch time). It should be a super-fun weekend for you and any friends you bring along.

Freehiking Feels Completely Natural

“I started hiking last summer in the Pine Barrens of Central NJ. While it doesn't have mountain terrain, (its mostly flat) it's forested, and there are many trails, both rugged and just big enough for people and also sand roads wide enough for 4x4's. Google earth has been a wonderful tool for zooming to find the trails. It has been refreshing to my soul to hike naked, and now after a 1/2 dozen hikes, I feel completely natural hiking naked. In fact, I can't imagine hiking any other way now.” - Richike

Exploring a Green Belt

“As a follow up to the previous post, I had the day off and decided to do further exploration of the green belt area that I discovered quite near home. . . I free hiked for about 45 minutes until I came to small clearing. It was around 11:00 a.m. and the sun was high so I decided to stop and do some sunbathing. It was a fabulous location that had been more than a little difficult to access because of the steep hilly terrain that was well covered with trees and brush so I felt totally at ease lying there on the grass and enjoying the warmth of the sun over every inch of my body. . . Afterwards, I collected my clothing and continued a bit further finding a huge rock almost shaped like a bench and so I stopped again and just sat down and enjoyed being outside in nature. . . I had some things that had to be done so I reluctantly headed back the way I had come. I remained naked until almost reaching the end of the wide improved trail I had used to start the hike and didn't dress until I was near the point where it led into the open. All told, an enjoyable 90 minutes of free hiking and nude sunbathing.” – The Emerging Nudist

Freehiking Rejuvenates My Soul

“I feel connected to the natural world around me more when I am nude with nothing standing between me and the environment. I can throw out some analogies here it's like skinny dipping, like going barefoot all over, etc. But those quick answers are so incomplete they don't even scratch the surface of the feelings. For me it is very nearly a religious experience. I feel closer to my version of The Creator when I am nude in nature. I am a part of this wonderful world, another being sharing that space with the wild creatures that live there. I find my senses are more heightened. I feel and sense things more. My eyes are keener and my hearing sharper. I feel the breeze and the rain on my skin, or the sun. I am enveloped by the surrounding nature. I go out in nature to recharge my batteries, to renew my soul, and to scrub off the layers of crud that living in civilization tends to put on you. I feel so good after a hike and if I have the opportunity to hike naked the feeling is multiplied. My skin has had a chance to breathe and perspire in the air, sunlight rejuvenates my cells - my eyes have beheld the wonders of nature. My memories of these hikes sustain me when I am cooped up in my civilized world. I savor these memories and look forward to the next hike to rejuvenate my soul.” - NudeAl

Naturist Families at Olive Dell

PJ and I spent several days over the last week at Olive Dell Ranch preparing for our current and soon to be friends who are coming for the Bare Burro 5K (April 18th). I mowed the weeds in Dellymaze Park and on the Nature Trail, and took some photos of plants to incorporate into the Nature Trail Guidebook that is nearly complete.

We’ve had a good number of visitors. One, John, a visitor from Santa Barbara, was surprised at all the fun characters in the Dellymaze Park and stated that Dellymaze was over half of the experience at Olive Dell. It’s always fun to share what we’ve done.

This week I was again reminded of how nice it is when families are naturists.

Yesterday I met a young couple (20s) who were taking a two-week vacation at Olive Dell. I met them at the hot tub where they were soaking and playing with their daughters (six and three years old). They had only recently become naturists, and they shared how much they loved it, especially the wife. Their visit started the day before, and they had walked Dellymaze Park - loved it. We invited them to come back anytime for a tour. Later in the day we saw the family playing shuffleboard together. It was so enjoyable watching this young family, and especially the children, play naked around the resort.

Several days earlier, I had returned from working on Sierra Street, a new trail that I was building for one of the kids that lived at the resort. I was met on the deck by four children from the resort (ages 12 to 6). They were so excited about the new trail in the Park, especially because PJ was putting in an alien feature.

So imagine the scene: Four young naturist girls talking excitedly (and totally unconcerned) with a naked old man covered with dirt from working (not a dirty old man), drinking a soda, sitting in a chair on a deck outside a trailer. Where else but at a naturist park? I love our happy place at live Dell Ranch!

Bare Burro 5K - Registration Extended

Great news! We've talked with the t-shirt maker, and he says we can wait for another week before producing the shirts, so we've extended the Bare Burro 5K registration deadline until April 9th. (People may still register up to race day, but will not get a t-shirt.)

On Saturday the 17th, the day before the race, plan for some fun activities, including a pre-race freehike of the course. Take a guided tour of the totally unique Dellymaze Park and the newly opened Olive Dell Nature Trail. Take a nude tennis lesson from Dave.

Tent camping is very inexpensive, and there are still very nice cabins available for $30 a night (call Olive Dell at (909) 825-6619, and ask for Bobby).

On Race Day, Sunday, April 18th, check-in starts at 9:00 am, and we will gather for the race by 10:15 am. We're expecting at least 50 people to run or walk the course, including one three year old and one 80 year old. (Pretty good turnout for the first nude 5K in California.) Things to Do Nude will cover the race, and people are coming from as far away as Arizona, Utah, and Idaho.
We're also planning a BBQ after the race.

Visit www.olivedellranch.com for more information and a registration form. The Bare Burro 5K is going to be super-fun and very memorable - don't miss out!
